As The Corn Grows is a new soap opera that will be joining the Our Story lineup this summer. The show is filmed at Heritage Acres and Our Story Studios in Fairmont, Minnesota. It depicts the story of a big-city girl (Urban Kati) who leaves her city life behind to move to southern Minnesota after inheriting a farm from her aunt. Executive Producer, Jeff Rouse says, "To the best of our knowledge, As The Corn Grows is the first TV soap opera about rural Minnesota life. The show has the tongue-in-cheek flavor of Mary Hartman, and the cliff-hanging intrigue of General Hospital. The zany cast of characters will expand throughout the season and once you see the first corny episode, you’ll be hooked!"
The As The Corn Grows cast consists of Kati Powell (relocating to Fairmont from Los Angeles), Dan Mensing from Blue Earth, and Fairmont residents Mark Anderson, Denise Rouse and Bonnie Fjelstad.
